Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said President Trump’s Make American Great Again slogan was a “lie,” saying his first year back in office was focused on obliging wealthy supporters.
“I think people are realizing it was all a lie. It was a big lie for the people. What MAGA is really serving in this administration, who they’re serving, is their big donors,” Greene said in a Wednesday interview with radio personality Kim Iversen.
“The big, big donors that donated all the money and continue to donate to the president’s PACs and donate to the 250th anniversary and are donating to the big ballroom,” she added.
The former Georgia representative recently resigned from Congress, after airing concerns over the future of health care premiums and the war in Gaza, citing fractures within the GOP and falling out with Trump and MAGA, despite years of loyal support for the president.
On Wednesday, she said the people who truly benefit from backing Trump are financial benefactors, telling Iversen: “Those are the people that get the special favors. They get the government contracts, they get the pardons, or somebody they love or one of their friends gets a pardon.”

So many people, including you, warned all of us. I voted third party in 2024. I backed Trump in 2016 and 2020...but I knew with the obsession about the "rigged election in 2020" despite actually using *ALL* of his legal resources in attempt to redress that, that Trump 2.0 would be vicious, cruel, and a vengeful tyrant. At this point, I would welcome anybody other than someone from this Administration as our next President - including even Kamala Harris.
ReplyDeleteWell said. I, too, voted third party. Until I see fundamental corrections by the Republican Party, they will not be getting my vote. If the Democrats want my vote, they need to select candidates that I want to see occupying the office in question.
DeleteVoting third party in America is raging at the storm like Lear. The downside of the Electoral College is clear (overweighting geography and statehood there and in the Senate far beyond what was envisioned when the Constitution was ratified), but it’s wisdom is in forcing compromise to win a majority or plurality in the only countrywide vote for federal office. To refuse to do so is to lack humility and to knowingly demand my way or the highway in the face of incompetence and malfeasance. There is always a “better” of two options, and only a Pilate would pretend his hands are clean for not taking action.
DeleteBetter late than never. Hopefully others can connect the dots with trickle down economics, culture war distractions, and military/first responder pandering, and immigrant exploitation, too.
ReplyDeleteIf you want my vote, run someone I am willing to for FOR. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.
DeleteIt’s your right to fiddle while Rome burns. There were quite obviously better and worse Roman emperors, Turkish, sultans, and general secretaries of the communist party. Ox on both their houses is a pure cup out. There’s never a good option and a bad option. This side of paradise, every choice we make is a choice of lesser evils.
