The United States is Now a Banana Republic

America is in the middle of the most serious constitutional crisis since the Civil War. It is time for a non-violent revolution. The people need to demand the resignation or removal from office by impeachment of this corrupt junta. We may getting close to the point where we will need to consider extreme measures like a national strike. Especially if Trump attempts to directly interfere with the November elections as some of his more rabid supporters are urging.

  1. Crazy one of your general political inclinations is calling for a National strike!

Trump self dealing is simply a continuation of the voodoo, supply side economics Republicans have been preaching since Reagan — which is nothing more than the corporate and donor classes self dealing themselves. Corporate and high wealth and income-related tax cuts are far away our largest welfare program.

  2. I think that comparing allowing people to keep more of their earned money to brazen corruption, tax evasion, and abuse of power is a bit of a stretch. Even for those with a taste for left wing histrionics.

    1. Wealthy individuals and corporations supporting supply side friendly politicians is corruption. They are buying tax breaks. Same with military contractors buying off politicians to vote for military programs the military doesn’t want or need. Same with PE buying support for tax breaks. It’s been brazen corruption because it’s always been based on a lie (voodoo). And by increasing debt at while cutting taxes on those who can most afford them (and Rs only feign caring about debt when Ds are in power), the cost of that tax cut corruption is foisted on those who pay their fair share and can afford it less - just like another example of brazen corruption by Trump and protected by those who have decades of practice lying to themselves about their economic beliefs.

    2. And most tax cuts aren’t about everyday people keeping more of their earned money, that too has always been brazen cover for tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.
