Brussels, May 17, Interfax - Bishop Hilarion of Vienna and Austria, representative of the Russian Orthodox Church at European organizations, is pessimistic about prospects for Orthodox participation in the World Council of Churches, the Moscow Patriarchate Brussels office have reported to Interfax on Wednesday.
In his recent address to the WCC Executive Committee in Bossey, Switzerland, Bishop Hilarion noted that ‘objective processes underway in ‘the ecumenical fellowship’ make it increasingly problematic for the Orthodox to participate in the work of inter-Christian organizations’.
