AXIOS! He is worthy!
Today Deacon Gabriel Seamore, formerly of St. Mary Magdalene Mission parish in Merced, CA is to be ordained to the Holy Priesthood at St. Tikhon's Seminary in Pennsylvania. This is a moment of intense joy for all of his many friends, loved ones and family including his parish family here in Merced. Although this takes part on the other side of the country let there be no doubt but that the cries of AXIOS! and Many Years! will echo in the Central Valley today. To both Fr. Gabriel and Matushka may God truly grant you both many many years!
The newly ordained Priest Gabriel was remembered at our Liturgy (for Memorial Saturday, as well as St. Patrick) today. Axios! May God grant Father Gabriel and Matushka Terri Many Years of fruitful service. We were privileged to be a small part of Fr. Gabe's journey back to ordained ministry, having formerly been ordained an Byzantine Catholic Deacon.

ReplyDeleteFr. David,
This is a very happy and joyous day. We Irish regard anything that occurs on St. Patrick's day as being especially blessed. I regret that I was not able to be at the morning liturgy since I was at work from 6(!) AM.
