John T. Steinbock, the Roman Catholic bishop of Fresno, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Just how advanced is not yet known. But lung cancer is a really bad diagnosis under any circumstances. Bp. +Steinbock has been very kind and charitable to the mission parish that I belong to in Merced. He has given his blessing for us to use the beautiful (pre Vatican II) chapel at the old Mercy Hospital building for many years now. In your charity please pray for him.News Source
