Some interesting data from the Ukraine

Russian religion oriented and Orthodox outfits reported on the findings of a sociological inquiry conducted by the Institute of Sociology of the Ukrainian National Academy of Ukraine, with the title 'Religion in Ukraine: Confessions, Attitudes, Believers.' Here are the results:

1) 46% of inhabitants of Ukraine consider themselves members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate; 22% belong to the schismatic Kiev patriarchate; Nearly 10% are Uniates; 3% are Protestants; 2% is shared by Latin Christians and Muslims; 1% belongs to the, unrecognised by the Orthodox Communion, Ukrainian Autocephalic Orthodox Church; 1% are members of non-traditional religious movement (whatever those are).

2) 52% of people characterised the relations between the various religious organisations as normal; 6% think they are good; 27% thinks that the relations between religious organisations are conflicting

3) The Western regions of Ukraine contain by far most religious people (96%); In the East it is 71%; 73% in the Central Ukraine; 78% in the South; the least religious are the inhabitants of Kiev (69%); among people in villages it is 84%; 86% of women are religious compared to 67% of men.
