I note in the comments (#7) that Sarah Hey once again assumes that leaving TEC is motivated by a "deeply wounding loss." She's still in TEC and spends more time criticising those who leave than those who have destroyed her church by their innovations. She tried that with me too, accusing me of being a liar with a martyr complex. See comments 69-72 here:

I stopped reading Stand Firm and T19 over 2 years ago.
Still, it was an interesting conversation. (These days I go to SF mostly for Chris Johnson and Anne Kennedy.)
I note that if you check Monachos.net, Fr. Kimel lists his affiliation there as ROCOR as far back as January of this year. Apparently, we're dealing with old news.
As to the arguments re:UGG, this seems to be old news, too. As an ex-Anglican, blindness (or as I call it Thickheadedness) is nothing new either. Why torment yourself with these things? I don't think we really have the charism of reaching everyone.
John, does not your Bishop bless communion with the Oriental churches? What he forbids is concelebration. I'll also note that St Innocent encouraged concelebration with Armenians. The idea that the Oriental Orthodox are monophysite heretics is questionable at best - perhaps some nuance is in order.
By the way, intercommunion with Anglicans was very common in the US through the 1960s. Not suggesting that it was entirely appropriate but it is a fact. The truth is that the Church has often had broad economia toward other Apostolic Communions that have basically maintained the Apostolic Faith, modern America notwithstanding.

I have never heard of Bishop Benjamen blessing inter communion with the O/Os. I am not unaware of efforts by some to suggest that they are not in fact heretics. Here however is where the rubber hits the road. Do they accept the definitions of the 4th Ecumenical Council? No? That's sufficient reason for me to say no to inter-communion.

I'm certainly not suggesting you should do anything other than what you feel is in fidelity to the Apostolic Faith. I'm just saying that things are somewhat more complex in the Orthodox world, both locally and globally, than was suggested in the Uggh thread. Personally, I have to say I have never received the Eucharist in an Oriental Orthodox Church and would not consider doing so without my Bishop's blessing.
