May God strengthen him in this trial.
And no one escapes the last judgment, not even if he carries a crozier. The Catholic church went mad a long time ago. The water is getting warmer. Will the frogs stay in?
I might be convert, but I still feel the need to say: I'm staying and fighting because it's my home, dammit!
I wish you the best! The important thing is working out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Whimpy Cardinal Archbishop!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure glad that I don"t have to attend mass in D.C.
DetJohn
Isn't to attend mass anywhere the same as attendig, well, anywhere? Isn't the person attending in Paris, France, in communion with those attending in DC, so that in effect it's all the same thing?
This pretty much sums up why I became Orthodox. Authority in the church is a means to an end, the end being the preservation and transmission of the faith. When authority becomes an end in itself, it is no longer authority but a cult of personality. I simply do not trust the Catholic hierarchy to protect the faith. It is that simple. They can call me if they ever decide to go back to doing their job. What they believe their job to be at the present time, I have no clue. None whatsoever.
Didn't read the link, but canon lawyer extrodinaire Ed Peters said (when this first hit the news) that the priest didn't follow proper protocol to deny someone the Sacrament. Father Z of all people agreed that the priest probably jumped the gun.
She set a trap for him and he fell right into it. He wasn't going to win with the MSM regardless, but the church has an excuse to discipline him based on "due process."
