Many Years

...To the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who are expecting their first addition to the family. As there is strong support in Parliament to amend the law making royal succession based on pure primogeniture (gender neutral), the baby would be in direct line of succession to the throne after William, even if it's a girl.

The child would be the Duke's successor as King no matter what. Male-preference primogeniture prefers younger men over their own sisters only. It's semi-Salic primogeniture that would keep Prince Harry in line, but Britain's never had that.

That's true. But if he has a daughter and then later a son, under the current arrangement the son would bump the daughter from her spot as heir presumptive.
