Quote of the day...

"A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian..."

-Pope Francis responding to a question about Donald Trump's views on immigration.

  1. Too many people are attracted to Orthodox Christianity because of its fortress mentality.

  2. For his information, Mexicans scarcely need bridges to march into this country.

  3. Will ISIS sell tickets to the Papal Decollation?

  4. He has more to say about the wall builders than about homosexual unions, and with directness and conviction which his normal statements lack. I don't see the Vatican state letting in a ton of illegals. Build a bridge and let them in Pope Francis!

    What have we come to?

  5. Steve Sailer did his homework and discovered that the wall around the Vatican was built by Pope St. Leo following...Arab/Muslim attacks! Doesn't sound very inclusive and welcoming to me.

  6. Actual quote of the day:

"A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not of building bridges, is not Christian. This is not the gospel. As far as what you said about whether I would advise to vote or not to vote, I am not going to get involved in that. I say only that this is man is not Christian if he has said things like that. We must see if he said things in that way and I will give him the benefit of the doubt.”

Note the "only", and the call of the Pontiff to build bridges.
Note that the context was about breaking up families, not about armed invaders. Note the benefit of the doubt.

Feel free to eat words, including words conveying a sense of superiority to Mr Warren.

  7. RE: David J,

This is what I love about Pope Francis and his Charism of Confusion. It allows/requires ordinary Catholics, not just Jesuits, to live in Biblical times by straining gnats and swallowing camels so as to "explain" or "contexualize" his statements to mitigate the heresy/scandal. #SpiritofVaticanI

  8. On the contrary, all that is needed to to read the comments as they actually are - even without charity, which is so sadly lacking - rather than straining at gnats or creating false contexts to play gotcha.
