I sense something I have not encountered in many years... one of the better blogs on the web, long dormant, may be stirring.

His comments mirror the experience of a genius-level family member who left academics in disgust. He got shafted twice at two different, very prestigious universities by people who mentored him and for whom, in turn, in turn, he worked very hard. Universities have become strange places. One day we'll just have to shut them down.
