No big deal. Is there anything about the Pope in Catholic communal prayer that identifies him as Vicar of Christ? Do Catholics anywhere in public prayer say anything about believing anything about the Pope? If not, why all this fuss? If Catholics don't pray it, how can they say they believe it? The Papacy has tried very hard to take away the liturgical patrimony of the West, and there has never been anywhere publicly prayed by Catholics that says anything about the Pope. Let's hope the laity of the West - and the East frankly - realize the problems of hyper-clericalism and make sure their hierarchs stay in their lanes.
