Product Review: HP DeskJet 2800e printer
It's junk. I bought one a couple weeks ago at Walmart to help handle the mountain of paperwork I am dealing with following my mother's death. Set up was inconvenient but manageable. Once I got it set up and got past the endless attempts by HP to get me to sign up for automatic ink deliveries and purchases I tried printing the first few docs. It took forever to get them through to the printer, which apparently is limited to specific types of wifi connections. The docs were PDFs. Once I got the machine to actually try printing (now hours into this project) it kept jamming and misprinting pages. I kept repeating print orders which it kept ignoring or jamming or printing pages that were cut off. Of more than 70 pages I actually managed to get through the machine, only two(!) came out right. I thought about taking it back to Walmart and demanding my money back, but realized they would just rebox it and sell it to some other unsuspecting victim. That would have troubled my conscience. So I decided to do the next best thing (and far more enjoyable). I put my boots on and stomped the damned thing good. Your mileage may vary, but FWIW I will NEVER buy anything from HP again. What's left is being saved for target practice.
