Ha. That student could have been me. I worked at a pet store in college, and nearly lost my job when a guy bought one of those puffy lionfish. I made him help me get it out of the tank and into the bag- one of us holding the bag open and the other scooping the fish- and in doing one of us dropped the fish on the top of the tank below and we had to sort of coak it back into the net and into the bag. My boss yelled at me later that because I'd let the customer help, I would have had to pay for the fish if it died, or something.
Poor fish... but looking back I'm now glad of my caution, job or no job. :)
