Fr. John Whiteford vs She who must not be named

Orthoblogdom's resident wingnut is at it again. This time she/he has picked a fight with Fr. John Whiteford. This person has very serious issues. Please pray for her/him. For those unfamiliar with the back story, it has been addressed in a couple of earlier posts (see here and here). I will confine myself to strongly urging people to stay well clear of the blog in question. It is neither Orthodox nor Christian, any contrary representations notwithstanding.

(S)he knows that (s)he is wrong otherwise she would not keep shutting off her comments. (S)he fears the truth.

It's probably best not to air out this issue. Now, thanks to you, I'm going to check it out. For shame.

Orthodox lay blogging seems to attract peculiarly unhealthy and unChristian writing. The main problem with the blog in question is that it is so far out there that it provides cover for the dysfunction and need for spiritual help of others.

Once folks get over their hurt feelings, let's look at the sheer creativity. Wow.

Oh no. Not him/her/it again! He/She/it should make her/him/itself useful and attack the priests who deserve it in the AOANA and not good ones like Fr. John Whiteford.

Vade retro satana!

I'm rather impressed by Fr. John Whiteford's referring to this person as a "he" in his extremely kind and gracious response to the vitriolic blogger in question.

I rather enjoy some of the series of photographs he presents. It's a pity they have to be surrounded by such hateful and worthless drivel.

It always surprised me how offended the blogger gets about so-called "personal attacks", considering the vicious remarks he himself makes about Metropolitan Jonah for his weight. There are many reasons people become obese, and many reasons why people have trouble losing weight once they put on a lot. An obese monk is not a contradiction in terms, and there is no reason to think that Met. Jonah's weight problems indicate a failure to lead a monastic lifestyle.

What is a contradiction in terms, however, is "unrepentantly transgendered" and "Orthodox Christian in good standing". I am glad that while this is now common knowledge and the subject takes offense at that, most people see this as something to mourn and pity, not gloat over.

uh.............................

anyways, Fr. John Whiteford sounds discreetly condescending in his little bit, p.o.'d because his politics were bashed, if i was him i would not of said anything nor even have had an email correspondence with her to begin with, he knew what he was doing (why feed the source, which not doubt has psychological problems which I am sure is aggravated by this utter child nonsense), nor posted news of this on this blog.. appears like school children going back and forth

"She who must not be named" hilarious! I knew exactly who you meant without even looking (but I did just to be sure).
Well, here's a thought, anyone ever see "HACKERS"? You could 'spam' her to death; her blog and e-mail.
There are only a handful of decent Orthodox blogs anyway, might as well eliminate "THAT" one.

Thanks to those of you who have expressed words of support, publicly and privately. Contrary to the anonymous poster, I did not know that I was dealing with someone with all the issues I discovered after it was too late. I had read that blog before, was not a regular reader.

I've read the blogger....It's hard not to be a rubberneck when there's a good train wreck...Boy, a lot of issues there. It must be very unhappy to be in that position, even more unhappy to turn off every well meaning soul who crosses your path.
Fr. John calling a male a male is not being cruel or unusual. The blogger is off on a daily seethe that does no one, himself or anyone else any good at all. At moments like this it's comforting to know that the screen can be changed in an instant to something more worthwhile like Nat King Cole on Youtube.

Dear Mad Matt (& All)
I do not encourage any kind of hacking or similar activities. He/she is in need of prayers not abuse irrespective of the venom he/she produces. That said I will repeat that I think people should stay clear of the blog in question.

She appears to be accountable to no one, and this is what is dangerous.

He/She is accountable to God. That is even more dangerous. As far as I am aware she has been barred from the Chalice by ROCOR.

Teena: He claims to have a Russian spiritual mother whom he calls his "staritsa". I do not know who this could be, and cannot imagine who would approve of what is written on that blog. BTW, good comment on Rorate Caeli. :)

John: I believe he varies his attendance and tends to stick to an OCA church. (He's been rather critical of the ROCOR church in his area that he formerly belonged to.) So, if Fr. John Whiteford is interested in writing to this person's priest, the OCA churches near the city where this blogger lives would be the places to start.

I know he says he has a Russian nun as a spiritual director. Either she is unaware of what this person is/does, or she is unbalanced as well. I can come to no other conclusion. I thought Stan knew Fr. Andrew Phillips in England, and I respect him. I wrote him and asked him to speak to Stan about the vile comments he makes. Fr. Andrew it turns out does not know him personally, but I think he did write him and say something to him. It obviously did not work. I have it from a good source that he is banned from ROCOR because he is unrepentant. The OCA would be a strange place for him to find refuge since he cannot even manage a charitable comment about its leadership. It's scandalous-and incredibly sad.

Teena Blackburn said...

I should say that I'm not sure Fr. Andrew wrote him, but I know Stan made some angry comments on his blog about someone complaining to the clergy. :)
