The Roman Catholic blogosphere is alive with reports that the Holy See is preparing to present the SSPX with a two page document that would outline the current state of the discussions between Rome and the Society and present options for moving forward. The document is to be presented during a meeting on Sept 14th. While it would be unwise to call the document an ultimatum, if the reports are accurate it would seem to be an indication that Rome wants to begin the process of bringing the Society back into full communion. I for one am highly skeptical given the very hard nosed positions the SSPX has adopted. But it will be interesting to see where this goes.

a good example of being on the right side of a theological issue, but nonetheless wrong.
