Huh? Like "Thanks" for giving us World War I ? that led us also to the Soviet Holocaust, World War II and all that other good stuff? Gee... what would we have done without him?
I cannot but believe that had Germany and its allies won the war by the end of 1914 the 20th Century would have been a happier century than it was, i.e., no Russian Revolution, no Nazism, World War II and Holocaust, and no Imperial America throwing its weight around on the world stage, like a drunken sailor spoiling for a fight with anyone who looks askance at him.
The Kaiser certainly bears his share of responsibility for World War I, though by no means sole responsibility. But World War II must be laid primarily at the feet of Woodrow Wilson. If we had minded or own business the war would have ended with a German victory in 1917. It is almost impossible for me to imagine that leading to a Second World War.
where we live this statue of Kaiser Wilhelm II was once in our local park, but after the start of WWI, the bust was thrown in the lake. The pedestal is still there...
the name of the city was also changed from "Berlin" to Kitchener.
