What is frustrating is that what may come after al-Assad could be far worse, for us, and almost certainly, for Syria's Christians. It would be best for us to stay out of this and stop trying to pick "good guys" where there are none. Cf. Libya.
The Syrian rebel faction would have never gained a foothold had it not been for, as Russia observed, our secret funneling of weapons and mercenaries from Saudi Arabia and Qatar (and probably other countries) to start with. Sad that our country is leading the way in the destruction Middle Eastern Christian populations. The harvest we reap from this will be terrible, to say nothing of what Syrian Christians will experience. May God have mercy.
