If it's any consolation, we have similar stuff here in the RCC. Across the river from me is a new SSPX chapel, and the mainstream RCC bishop is telling people to stay away from the scary SSPX Oompa Loompas and all that.

Not to digress, but my thing is, "My lords bishops, if you don't want your flocks to bail to the SSPX, then how's about you quit playing gatekeeper with the Extraordinary Form?"
