In Louisiana a state legislator has proposed that the King James version of the Bible be declared the state's official book.

One could do worse.
They'd be better off choosing the Douay-Rheims - Louisiana is in the main, Catholic.
I'd have thought "A Confederacy of Dunces" the natural choice--for more reasons than one.
