Happy Birthday

Pope Clement XIV, remembered today chiefly for a single act, was born on this day in AD 1705. Here's hoping the next Pope is Clement XV.

Eh, not to worry. The median age for Jesuits worldwide is probably close to 70 years of age. Demographics is destiny. The Lord gave the charism of perpetuity only to His Church, not to any specific subset. Everything else, including the spiritual descendants of Loyola, have a shelf life with a valid expiration date. So, be at peace.

Ironically enough, Russia provided the Jesuits with shelter at this time.
