The Most Corrupt President in the History of the United States Strikes Again

President Donald Trump on Tuesday fired the director of the federal agency that vouched for the reliability of the 2020 election.

Trump fired Christopher Krebs in a tweet, saying his recent statement defending the security of the election was “highly inaccurate.”

Read the rest here.

It is time to state something very plainly. Donald Trump is a liar. By which I mean he is a congenital liar. Some with more qualifications might call him a pathological liar. If Harry Truman were still alive, he'd just call Trump a lying son of a bitch. I'm comfortable with any of those characterizations.

But however you choose to frame it, any claim of fact that might emanate from Donald Trump's mouth or Twitter feed should be treated as a presumptive lie until verified by an independent reliable source. That includes the correct time of day and the weather. Speaking of which, he has actually lied about the weather. He lies with an ease and frequency that most people would associate with breathing.

Never, in the 54 years of my life, did I expect to have to write such things about a sitting President of the United States. God save us.

No public official should resign or consider himself fired on the basis of something on Twitter.

Trump is more than certain, the evidence is everywhere and it is obvious that the bureaucratic will do anything not to be demoralized.

No. It's not. Claims of a vast conspiracy to steal the election are bold faced lies. And those engaged in such mendacity are liars. I am done being diplomatic.

I guess I am naive enough to actually believe what I am being taught in my newfound Orthodox faith about loving others and praying for our leaders. Disgraceful.

There is no love in mendacity and no virtue in its tolerance. Remaining silent in the face of relentless lies is a sin.

John, perhaps you are right but the corruption is even worse on the other side with their leftists, atheistic, new world order reset. Many people who lived in the former Soviet Union see the signs and are wondering why they emigrated here only to see the same evil becoming so pronounced in our current state of affairs. Rants serve no purpose, but prayer does.

George W. Bush's pretextual war in Iraq that killed several hundred thousand souls who had nothing to do with 9/11--where does that rank?

The opposite of lies is truth - NOT finding equal mendacity in others we disagree with (so-called "Leftists" or Republicans or whomever). The fact that people of views that oppose DJT's may lie does not excuse DJT's lies, nor our tolerance of the same. If we uphold our Savior (who is Truth), then we can't just excuse lies as of no consequence. Orthodox Faith is hard, and we pray for our leaders to "do the right thing"... we don't just pray blindly for them to enrich themselves or to have fun locking up children and separating families (or whatever), but that they the right thing(s)... i.e. do unto others as Christ would do... and to try to follow Christ.

We shouldn't shrink from acknowledging what is true... even and especially when it is inconvenient. Sometimes, we would do better (when it is possible) to see that some will simply believe the virtue in their cause is self-evident, and overlook facts in disagreement with a premise or possible proposed solution. This happens, and I think it is common among many public servants - and yes it was especially prevalent on the Left years ago, but now equalled and exceeded in recent years from the Right. FWIW, I think I'm somewhere in Karl Rove's "dismissed center".

However, what with DJT's record 25,000 or so lies (WashPost), these are so consistent, frequent, and often intended to serve nefarious ends with no more than a fig of interest in the consequences, excusing them would tries the patience of Job (yes, Job texted last week, and was indeed 'sore vexed' but still "chill" :) )... patience which frankly few of us (self included) compare favorably with.
