One of the curious oddities between the calendars of the Eastern and Western Rite Orthodox is that the Conception of the BVM is celebrated on the 8th among Western Rite parishes.
It's more curious because the 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception for Roman Catholics. I would think WR parishes would have a calendar aligned with Orthodoxy, not Rome.
