Tragic spiritual blindness. Lord, have mercy!
You stun easy. Didn't you read the Screwtape Letters? It's the devil's first order of business to make people think he's not there. What more fertile ground for this than the C of E?
Tragic blindness, indeed; but it was only a matter of time, I suppose, given the overall trajectory towards the darkness of the Abyss.
How happy Satan must be at this prospective victory!
Besides the "Reformation" that founded them, Anglicans and Congregationalists lost it at the "Enlightenment." The mask of credal orthodoxy was still there though it started to come off in the Sixties. Pretty soon they'll be Unitarians (who started mostly as wayward Congregationalists): not Christian. I think it will be soft apostasy. They won't tell Grandma she can't believe in Jesus anymore but they'll have convention/synod votes to make belief in the trinitarian God optional.
What do you suppose is driving liberals to infiltrate the Church of England and the Catholic church? Could liberals be the "gates of Hell" that Christ spoke about?
