Two Eastern Catholics getting married? Looks awesome to me :)
Assuming the church is indeed uniate (an assumption I think improbable though I concede is possible) that in itself raises an interesting question. Non-Roman Rite Catholics make up somewhere around 1% of all the Christians in communion with Rome. They couldn't a respectable Latin Right Church for an advertisement in a decidedly Western country where Eastern Rite Catholics likely make up a statistically insignificant percentage of the overall Catholic population?
No matter how you read this I think it raises some interesting questions. I also find it rather funny.
Perhaps they are showcasing ecclesiastical diversity and beauty at the same time.
Me thinks you are grasping at straws. I took a closer look at that picture. There's not a snowball's chance in the really hot stinky bad place that the photo is of an Eastern Catholic Church anywhere in Britain or even the United States. There are none big enough. The murals and iconography look very Eastern European. My guess is Russian or Ukrainian although Romania could also be possible.
I don't gamble as a rule. But if I did, I'd give good odds this was an Orthodox Church.
john,
e-mail the webmaster at catholic match and try to find some leads on where the picture was taken. hopefully they'll get back to you soon so you'll stop losing sleep over whether online Catholic dating sites are poaching ambiguously eastern wedding photographs.
we need to get to the bottom of this. ITE!
It may be that the site is run by Protestants or others marketing to Catholics, and the managers simply do not know the difference between statues and icons or between a reredos and an iconostasis.

Oh. I thought at first you were referring to those black and white symbols at the bottom left of the ad. They -- well, never mind.
John -- Don't you ever wonder if it mightn't just be better to shut up? Nah -- of course not.
WOW! Guessing this one is really bothering you huh. Kinda odd given all the things I post on.
