I love these things but they never allow you to do things that I would actually do. Eliminate income tax and the IRS, institute a national sales tax (create a refund system for those below the poverty line), eliminate foreign combat units (keep the training and support staff, close all foreign "friendly" bases in Europe), make all federal assistance programs including farm aid, needs based. No automatic retirement age at all.
Roll back Federal pay to 1999 levels and lock for 5 years. Across the board cuts (real cuts) of 10%. And I would pass a constitutional amendment requiring mandates to the state be fully funded by the federal government.
Oh and I'd federalize all state pension funds and standardize them downward based on rolling 10 year averages of treasury bills.
That's just the beginning. Where's the line where I can eliminate the Department of Education and privatize the FDA, FCC and the FAA (model the replacements on groups like IEEE, UL and other private groups).
I say, we do just go all the way and eliminate representational based democracy and make our decisions based on the collective will of the people through NY Times and other such avenues, (Fox News Included so that we can reach everyone;)
Then, when we realize that Plato (or was it Aristotle?) was right and democracy is nothing more than mob rule, we can institute monarchy with checks by the courts and Church(Orthodox of course!), and the ability for the people to collectively veto the monarch's decisions (thus a Confucian model, except less bloody.)
There, done. Government and all societal problems fixed. Haha. If only I were so naive!
