I'd say it's yet another reason to move to Canada. This is not an issue for us. :)

Han, Oh...ok, next time I'll whisper. :) I think it is harder for me to avoid gluttony than turkey on Thanksgiving day. :/
Honestly, how hard would it be for the Holy Synods of our various jurisdictions to just say to their respective flocks, "Okay, people, *this* is our policy." Instead, we have local priests trying to give their various interpretations of what *ought* to be done, parishioners sneaking to do something else, and the integrity of the first part of the Nativity fast is obliterated. Hey, while they're at it, perhaps they could also establish some liturgical texts appropriate to the day.
