I don't blame him for doing it, but it was a political mistake. The "birthers" were tearing apart the GOP and making conservatives look like escapees from the state asylum. Of course a lot of them won't accept it. I can already here the cries of "forgery" from the wingnuts.

Yup. The Donald has already remarked upon how strange it is that the b.c. should suddenly materialize after all this time.
Anyone could have found this out without hearing it direct from the president's mouth! People believe what they want to believe regardless of truth...
I could care less about the whole birther controversy. That's straining at gnats while the fiscal/monetary time bombs that are about to blow the nation apart keep ticking.
Having said that, the document produced by the White House is strange. Seriously, "U K L Lee" was the registrar? And what are the document properties? Because graphics guys all over the web are saying it's a multi-layered document, not a flat scan.
Here's a contemporaneous certificate for comparison.
Since frankly I'd find Hussein just as objectionable if he were from Des Moines, I'm going to assume it's legit and a typically amateurish government staffer decided to gussy the scan up in Adobe so it would read easier.
It's just ... odd.
Uh....His name is not Hussein, but Barack Hussein Obama.
Your prejudice is showing thereby lessening the value of your statement.
You forget John, the democrats got a time machine from the aliens who crashed in Roswell in 1947. Don't be fooled!
Okay. Barack--man of the people.
Now does this .pdf file look more like it dates to 1961?
AG,
Are you suggesting that the entire government of the state of Hawaii (whose governor was a Republican in 2008) as well as the FBI the Secret Service and the entire of the press and media are all collectively engaged in a vast conspiracy that dates at least to 1962? All with apparent objective of installing a foreign born Muslim as the 42nd President of the United States? That is what you are coming across as suggesting, whether you realize it or not.
These birthers are so far divorced from reality that I am convinced they have become completely impervious to any form of reasoning or facts.
I don't know what to think and I really don't care. Barack doesn't have American interests at heart so to me it's immaterial whether he was born in Honolulu, Kenya or Des Moines. It's just that, after all this hullabaloo, the White House produces this scrubbed, multi-layered and bitmapped pdf file that puzzles me. Again, it is a really odd document.
Well, what are "American interests" and who's around to support them?
Its a bit late now if President Obama wasn't born in the USA the time to have discovered this fact was before he was elected and already served a term in office.
Why is it if it is a requirement of the US constitution that any candidate for the Presidency be born in the US that one is not required to provide officially documented proof before hand irrespective of skin color. I think I might run for the white house I'm not born in the US but their is obviously a loop hole.
