I have yet to hear blame being put on DC - only on Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party, Congress as a whole, or President Obama.
Just like the Washington's own Pravda to blame the country. Perish the thought of offending one's sources.
Petula (that's the best her mother could come up with?, like you, is so obviously an Obama-can-do-no-wrong Democrat. I'm surprised she could bring herself to include the Democrat, Weiner, in her honor roll
of "wackos".
Repeat after me,100 times:
They are NOT wacko; they are CORRUPT.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

In my experience, the Ad Hominem is rarely a persuasive counterargument.
James,
Did the rest of the country send these clowns to DC or not? If they did, then it seems a fair point.
John, in principle the teo are not mutually exclusive, but in practical terms, inthe case of anyone who mangages to make it to Washington, they are. These people know exactly what they are doing and how and why. If they csn be called crazy, it's crazy like a fox. Method in the madness, laughing all the way to the bank, etc.
Looking forward to the day when you'll link something from Paul Craig Roberts. He nailed the Shutdown with this column:

John (Ad Orientem):
When the gerrymandering, pacs, lobbyists and poll rules make it doggone impossible to unseat a pol and roughly 90+ % are returned to office each election, we have to wonder whether in fact we really have a democratically elected group. When less than a 1/3 vote, half of that means roughly a 1/6th of eligible votes are determining the circumstance - cause that's all it takes - then I think your case of blaming the voters misses a systemic problem. I live in Pravda land, see it every day, grew up with most of these guys... blame the other guy if you want. But giving yourself a pass for accepting a corrupted system.
