An Indictment of Orthodox Participation in the National Council of Churches

I just hate it when Protestants make highly pointed criticisms of the Orthodox Church... that are completely fair and correct. Read it here.

That's very odd. It's a well known and respected Orthodox blog. Try the main page here...

I am not against all ecumenical dialogue or cooperation. But, whatever may have been true in the past, there is no longer any value for Orthodoxy in participating in the National Council of Churches -- though the junkets may be of value to the Ecumenical Officers who get to enjoy them.

What this Methodist man says is absolutely on target. Shame on the those of our jurisdictions that do not remove themselves from an organization that promotes things that are contrary to our most basic doctrines and values.

Let us pursue cooperation with those who actually share our beliefs on the intrinsic dignity of life and the clear and consistent tradition of Christian sexual morality.

I'm sure I've heard of the NCC before, but don't recall. Something else I didn't know: +Philip took the Antiochians out of the NCC in 2005.
