The Episcopal Organization's purge of Christians continues

News from Canon Kendal Harmon that the national Episcopal Organization (I decline to refer to that body as a church) has begun disciplinary proceedings against one of the very few remaining Christian bishops left in their body. Bishop Mark Lawrence of the Diocese of South Carolina is being accused of abandonment of the doctrine (laughable by itself), discipline and worship of TEO. Most of the few remaining Anglican bishops that were still firmly Christian left (or were driven from) TEO and and have since formed a new Anglican denomination.

See Canon Harmon's blog here for the latest news.

As a non-Anglican/Episcopalian but a lover of so much in the Anglican Tradition, I am deeply saddened by what TEC is (and has been) doing since the wicked witch has seized power. Looks like Prez Obama is being inspired by her and going after the Catholic Church, a very big mistake in my opinion. The Orthodox better keep a heads up because he will go after them too. Keeping a low profile isn't going to help.

As a former member of the TEC, this saddens me deeply.

We should pray for all involved in this mess. For Mark Lawrence and his faithful diocese, but particularly the people responsible for the legal action, because they clearly know not what they do. If this really is an attempt at a purge, the end result will only be an acceleration of the downward spiral of the Episcopal church. Only the lawyers will benefit.
