As a member of generation X, I have to shake my head at the ceaseless fist pumping about Nixon and Watergate. Yes, what he did was wrong, but the same hippies who protested that are now in power and have committed far greater atrocities against the US constitution that what Nixon did. The level of corruption in the US government today is so endemic that it makes Watergate look like an afterthought. It seems to me that Nixon is brought up again and again as a distraction to the real crime that is going on in present-day American, and as a way to keep people ignorant and clueless.
