The hammer and sickle are the quintessential symbols for humanists. Cut down what God has created and rebuild civilization in man's image.
I've found the use of the neo-pagan swastika by the Nazis interesting, in addition to the corresponding term "Axis." As Rene Guenon cited, this is an ancient symbol for the earth, and can be found all over Asia, commonly on food products that are vegetarian - which Hitler was, often chiding guests for eating meat. Remove the swastika from that flag and you have the exact inverse of Japan's Rising Sun flag.
