Very, very true.
One thing that can be said about George III is that he would never cop a feel before I got on an airplane and then try to assure me that it was for my own safety.
Archduke Otto von Habsburg-Lotharingen, Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary has died. Sic transit gloria mundi.
Re: King George, hear, hear! Sorry to read of Archduke Otto's passing; RIP.
Much maligned, indeed. An honorable man, victim of misdiagnosis in his later years, and nothing near the kind of tyrant he was denounced as being in the colonies; many of the unfortunate policies of the "Crown" were actually the fault of Parliament. But to denounce a legislature as tyrannical would not have played into the idea of of the Continental Congress quite so well. Interesting that we ended up, eventually, with a Chief Executive who has more direct power than George III ever did.
Still, all in all, I am glad to be an American and I pray God to bless what is good in our land, heal what is wounded, and call us to account what is wrong.
And bless God for the Holy Royal Passion Bearers of Russia, commemorated this day!
