MOSCOW — RECENT events surrounding Syria have prompted me to speak directly to the American people and their political leaders. It is important to do so at a time of insufficient communication between our societies.Read the rest here.
Relations between us have passed through different stages. We stood against each other during the cold war. But we were also allies once, and defeated the Nazis together. I don't know why, but... I like that man. A lot of Putin's policies worry me, and I hate to think what kind of precedent his government of Russia sets for future presidents, but I still can't bring myself to dislike the guy.
I pray that, when everything is said and done, his rule proves to have been a net positive for Russia.
And I'm glad to see him stand up for common sense in Syria. I'm sure his position is as much posturing as Obama's is, but at least he's on the right side.
He's a Russian president who acts in the Russian national interest, unlike US presidents who act in the British, French, Israeli and Mexican national interests.
I rather liked his letter in the Times, and had to say that agree with him far more than I do our head of state. Frankly the anti Christian agenda of our leftist politicians sound more like the propaganda of the Soviet era. I do believe the lamp upon te hill is rapidly becoming more heat than it is light. God forgive me for my bluntness,
