Given the US's historical and present bedfellows (Saudis, Suharto, Saddam, Samoza, Stalin... and those are just the S's), I think you might do well to think of another reason besides "dictatorship" for wanting to give Erdogan the left foot of fellowship-- not that there aren't plenty of other perfectly valid excuses.
Well there is also the fact that he currently has our base at Incirlik under a state of de-facto siege. You list of unsavory allies just warms my isolationist heart.
Bless your isolationist heart. It's much harder to have your bases under siege when you don't have bases in other people's countries.
