Church of England advances cause of female bishops

There are a whole bunch of threads up on this subject at T-19.  Forewarned though, the "Elves" have been aggressively censoring anti-W/O comments.

Well, then, there's no point in commenting, is there? Censoring elves are a sure sign of a tightly closed mind.

Sigh...where did we go so wrong? In the span of 50 years, we went from the church of CS Lewis and Michael Ramsey to John Spong and women bishops.

The way that "traditionalists," as we are called, have been completely thrown under the bus is truly disturbing.

I have the Western Rite and the Ordinariate on speed dial.

I think the problem with CofE and Anglicanism more broadly is that it had a self destruct code built into its DNA. Historically whenever great doctrinal controversies arose Anglicans have sought compromise over truth. There is only so long you can get away with that before something comes along over which people are not willing to compromise.
